Jamsil Arena's Last Concert Is 20 September 2026, and Nothing Is Booked After It

Update, 30 September 2026: the 20 September date covered below has passed. For concerts still ahead at other Seoul-area venues, see our October, November and December lists.
If a guide, a map pin or a resale listing still calls Jamsil Arena a K-pop venue, check the date on it. The last concert on the national register runs to 20 September 2026, and nothing is booked into the hall after it. Everything written about the building before August 2026 — seat views, best blocks, how early to queue — describes a room that is about to stop existing.
This page is the short version: what closes, when, what is still on, and where a Seoul concert of that size is held after the doors shut for good.
What is closing, and when
The hall is one building inside the Seoul Sports Complex in Songpa-gu. It is the arena, not the baseball stadium and not the main Olympic stadium next to it, and those three are easy to confuse in English. Figures below are the operator's own, read on 4 September 2026.
| Jamsil Arena | Figure |
|---|---|
| Opened | 18 April 1979 |
| Age at closing | 47 years |
| Total seats, operator's figure | 11,044 |
| Tier 1 / Tier 2 / Tier 3 | 1,000 / 4,273 / 5,759 |
| Capacity stated on the same page | 20,000 |
| Address | 25 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul 05500 |
| Closing date announced by the city | 20 September 2026 |
Two capacity figures sit on the operator's own page, 11,044 seats and 20,000 people. We are not picking one. The seat count is the number that matters if you are reading a seating chart; the larger figure appears to describe the room rather than the seats sold.
Why it is closing. The Seoul Sports Complex site is being redeveloped, and the arena is being taken down as part of that work. Korean reference pages and press reports give 20 September 2026 as the closing date. We could not find that date in a primary notice from the city or the operator, so we are not stating it as a fact here — what we can show is the register, which has nothing after that evening. A replacement sports complex is planned for the redeveloped site, but we have not found a first-hand source giving an opening year, so this page does not give one.
The last two concerts at Jamsil Arena
Korea keeps a national register of live performances, and every commercial concert is filed in it with its hall, dates, times and price bands. Read on 4 September 2026, exactly two pop concerts remain at this hall.
| Show | Dates | Times (KST) | Prices | Sold through |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PARK JI HOON ASIA FANCON, RE: FLECT (Seoul encore) | 12–13 Sep 2026 | Sat 18:00, Sun 17:00 | R 145,000 / S 110,000 won ≈$79 | Ticketlink |
| TAEMIN WORLD TOUR: LiMiNaL (Seoul) | 18–20 Sep 2026 | Fri 20:00, Sat 18:00, Sun 17:00 | VIP 198,000 / R 154,000 / S 132,000 won ≈$95 | YES24 |
The Sunday show on 20 September is the last one on the register before the closing date. Both listings give a running time of two hours and a minimum age of 7.
How we checked that nothing is booked after that
Rather than trust a fan page, we pulled the register ourselves for Seoul, pop music, from 4 September 2026 through 31 March 2027.
| What we pulled | Result |
|---|---|
| Window checked | 2026-09-04 to 2027-03-31, about 208 days |
| Pop concerts registered in Seoul in that window | 272 |
| Of those, at Jamsil Arena | 2 |
| Registered at Jamsil Arena after 2026-09-20 | 0 |
| Days left from the day we checked | 16 days |
A zero here is worth reading carefully. It does not prove the building is demolished on 21 September; it means no promoter has filed a show into that hall for the following six months, which is what you would expect of a venue that has stopped taking bookings. Note that the venue operator's own hire page still carried no closure notice on the day we read it, so the absence of bookings is the more reliable signal.
If you hold a ticket for 18–20 September
One thing is worth knowing before you tap in. The station is Sports Complex on Line 2 and Line 9, and the two lines put you at different distances from the site.
| Line | Station | Exit | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Line 2 | Sports Complex (218) | Exit 6 or 7 | The operator's own answer |
| Line 9 | Sports Complex (930) | Exit 9 | Longer walk from the exit |
The two exits are not the same walk. The operator gives the distance from the Line 2 exits to the main stadium as about 600 m, and from the Line 9 exit as about 1,000 m. That is the walk to the stadium rather than to the arena door, but the ratio holds: if you have a choice of line, Line 2 puts you closer. Sports Complex is also a Line 9 express stop, so an express train will not carry you past it.
Where Seoul's mid-size K-pop concerts go instead
The same register answers this without guesswork. These are the halls carrying arena-scale and mid-scale pop shows in Seoul over the next six months, counted the same way and on the same day.
| Venue | Shows registered | Next one starts | Last one in the window |
|---|---|---|---|
| Olympic Hall, Olympic Park | 8 | 2026-09-04 | 2026-10-24 |
| KSPO DOME, Olympic Park | 6 | 2026-09-18 | 2026-12-04 |
| KBS Arena, Gangseo-gu | 5 | 2026-09-19 | 2026-12-08 |
| Jangchung Arena, Jung-gu | 4 | 2026-09-13 | 2026-10-10 |
| Korea University Hwajung Gymnasium | 4 | 2026-09-04 | 2026-12-19 |
| Ticketlink Live Arena (Handball Gymnasium), Olympic Park | 1 | 2026-09-19 | 2026-09-19 |
| Gocheok Sky Dome | 1 | 2027-01-09 | 2027-01-09 |
| Jamsil Arena | 2 | 2026-09-12 | 2026-09-18, ending 2026-09-20 |
Olympic Park is the answer to most of it. Counting its four stages together — Olympic Hall, KSPO DOME, the Handball Gymnasium and the outdoor lawn — the park carries 17 of the 272 registered Seoul pop shows in that window, more than any other single site. If you had a habit of booking a hotel near Jamsil for concerts, that habit is now pointing at the wrong district.
Practically, that means an Olympic Park Seoul concert is the likeliest replacement for anything you would have seen at Jamsil. The two halls there are not interchangeable, though: KSPO DOME is the arena-scale room and Olympic Hall is much smaller, so Olympic Park Seoul concert capacity depends entirely on which of the two your show is booked into. Check the hall name on your ticket, not just the park.
Olympic Park is six stops down the same line
This part is easier than it sounds, because both sites sit on Line 9 and there is no change.
| Stop | Station | Line 9 number |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Sports Complex (for Jamsil Arena) | 930 |
| 1–5 | Samjeon, Seokchongobun, Seokchon, Songpanaru, Hanseong Baekje | 931–935 |
| 6 | Olympic Park (for KSPO DOME and Olympic Hall) | 936 |
Six stops, zero transfers — and both ends are Line 9 express stops, so you can also do it in two: Sports Complex, Seokchon, Olympic Park, with the express running the same track and skipping the four stations in between. Whichever service you board, you stay on one line. For the walk from the station to the dome itself, our KSPO DOME guide has the exits and park gates, and our Seoul concert schedule lists what is booked into each hall this autumn.
Four Jamsil buildings that look alike in English
This is where English pages go wrong most often, because in Korean these are plainly different words and in English they all read as “Jamsil something”. Only the first one is closing.
| Korean | English | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 잠실실내체육관 Jamsil Arena | Jamsil Arena / Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium | The concert and basketball hall, 11,044 seats | Closes 20 Sep 2026 |
| 잠실학생체육관 Jamsil Students' Gymnasium | Jamsil Students' Gymnasium | A separate, smaller hall a short walk away | Stays |
| 잠실야구장 Jamsil Baseball Stadium | Jamsil Baseball Stadium | Baseball, in the same complex | Also part of the redevelopment |
| 올림픽주경기장 Seoul Olympic Stadium | Seoul Olympic Stadium | The 1988 main stadium, stadium-scale tours | Same complex, different building |
If a listing gives you a Korean name, the four characters to look for are 실내 (indoor) against 학생 (students'). Those two words are the whole difference between the hall that is closing and the one that is not.
The naming matters for searching, too. Most English pages and search boxes say Jamsil Stadium rather than Jamsil Arena, so a search for Jamsil Stadium closing or Jamsil Stadium demolition will return a mix of all four buildings and of the wider redevelopment of the site. What is closing on 20 September 2026 is the indoor arena. The baseball stadium and the main Olympic stadium are on their own timelines within the same project, and this page does not cover those.
What we do not know
Three things, stated plainly, because guessing them would be the easy way to make this page look more complete than it is.
- When the replacement opens. A new sports complex is planned for the redeveloped site. We could not find a first-hand source giving an opening year, so we do not give one.
- Whether anything else gets added before 20 September. The register is a snapshot taken on 4 September 2026. A late booking could still appear.
- Ticket availability for the final shows. We do not track whether those two concerts are sold out, and this page is not a suggestion to buy.
If you searched for Jamsil Arena tickets, seats or photos
Most people arriving at a page about this hall are asking one of four things. Here is what each of them means now that the closing date is set.
| What you were looking for | Where it stands |
|---|---|
| Jamsil Arena tickets | Only two shows are on sale into this hall, on 12–13 and 18–20 September 2026. Anything advertised there for a later date should be questioned |
| Jamsil Arena capacity, Jamsil Arena concert capacity, Jamsil Arena Seoul capacity | 11,044 seats by the operator's own count, with 20,000 given as the capacity of the room |
| Jamsil Arena photos and Jamsil Arena view from my seat | Photos taken in this hall stop being useful for planning after 20 September 2026. For a seat view, and for where to sit at all, you want the hall your show actually moves to |
| Jamsil Arena vs KSPO DOME | The comparison is ending. KSPO DOME carries 6 registered shows over the next 6 months and Jamsil Arena carries 2, both this month |
One more phrasing worth untangling, because it sends people to the wrong building. Searches for Jamsil Stadium — where to buy tickets, where to sit — usually mean the Olympic Stadium or the baseball stadium, both of which are separate buildings in the same complex. The table two sections above separates the four.
The wider point for anyone planning a trip to Jamsil Arena Seoul: the searches will keep working for a while, because search engines are slower than buildings. The listings, the seat maps and the “where to sit” threads will all still be there in October. The hall will not.

Frequently asked questions about Jamsil Arena
When is the last concert at Jamsil Arena?
20 September 2026, and nothing is registered after it. Korean reference pages give the same date as the closing date, but we could not find it in a primary city or operator notice, so treat the register rather than that date as the hard fact. The national performance register carries no booking at the hall after it.
What is the last concert ever held at Jamsil Arena?
On the register as read on 4 September 2026, it is TAEMIN WORLD TOUR: LiMiNaL, running 18 to 20 September 2026, with the final show on the Sunday at 17:00 KST.
How many seats does Jamsil Arena have for a concert?
The operator publishes 11,044 seats in total, split 1,000 in the first tier, 4,273 in the second and 5,759 in the third. A separate figure of 20,000 appears on the same page as a capacity for the room.
Which subway station is closest to Jamsil Arena?
Sports Complex Station, served by Line 2 and Line 9. The operator directs visitors to Exits 6 and 7 on Line 2 and Exit 9 on Line 9, and gives the walk to the main stadium as about 600 m from the Line 2 exits against about 1,000 m from the Line 9 exit.
Where do K-pop concerts move after Jamsil Arena closes?
Mostly to Olympic Park, six stops away on Line 9 with no transfer, or two stops on the Line 9 express. Across the next six months the park's stages carry 17 registered Seoul pop shows, against 8 at Olympic Hall and 6 at KSPO DOME individually, with KBS Arena on 5 and Jangchung Arena on 4.
Is Jamsil Students' Gymnasium the same as Jamsil Arena?
No. They are two different buildings with similar English names. Jamsil Arena, 잠실실내체육관, is the one closing on 20 September 2026. Jamsil Students' Gymnasium, 잠실학생체육관, is a separate and smaller hall that is not part of that closure.
How this page was made
The seat counts, the address and the subway exits come from the venue operator's own pages, read on 4 September 2026. The concert dates, times, price bands and ticket sellers come from Korea's national performance register, which we queried directly for Seoul pop music between 4 September 2026 and 31 March 2027; the 272, the 2 and the 0 in the tables above are counts from that pull, not figures typed in by hand. The closing date of 20 September 2026 and the 19 August 2026 announcement come from Korean-language reporting and reference pages, cross-checked against the register showing no bookings after that date.
We have not been inside this building, and nothing here is a report of a visit. Where the two capacity figures disagree, we have printed both rather than choosing.
