K-pop Music Shows in Seoul: What Is On Each Day, and How Fans Actually Get In

There are six K-pop music shows in Seoul, all made by Seoul-based broadcasters and aired nationwide, one on each day of the week bar one — and that missing day is the first thing most English pages get wrong. Working out which show is on which day takes a minute. Getting inside the studio is the part that catches people out, because a music show seat is not something you buy.

K-pop music show days, and what airs on each

K-pop music show times below are Korea Standard Time, as published by each broadcaster and cross-checked on 2 September 2026. If you are working out what K-pop music show is today, find today's row. Programmes move, so treat the day as stable and the clock as the thing to re-check.

Six shows, seven days. If you are planning a trip around seeing one, the weekend pair sits close together: Music Core on Saturday afternoon and Inkigayo on Sunday afternoon are only about 24 hours apart.

Nothing airs on Monday

People search for a Monday show often enough that it is worth stating plainly: there is not one. The weekly cycle runs Tuesday to Sunday. A Monday in Seoul is a day for a fan-run cafe event or a company building, not a broadcast.

Two things English pages still get wrong

Both of these changed in 2026, and both are the kind of detail a guide written a year ago will still be repeating.

Music Bank moved. KBS posted a notice on 2 July 2026 stating that from Friday 10 July 2026 the broadcast time changes to 17:15. The programme page carries the same figure. Guides still listing 17:00 or 18:00 predate that notice.

The Show changed channel, and it was off air for months. It now airs on SBS LIFE, not the SBS M or SBS MTV branding many English pages still use. Season 8 ended on 11 November 2025 and season 9 did not begin until 2 June 2026 — a gap of 203 days. Anything written inside that window will tell you Tuesday has no show.

How to attend a K-pop music show, and why there is nothing to buy

Almost nothing explains how to attend K-pop music show recordings in one place, and the reason is that the answer is unsatisfying: you cannot arrange it the way you arrange a concert. A concert has a ticket with a price, sold on a ticketing site. A music show audience place does not work that way.

People search for how to get Music Bank tickets in particular. There are none to get — not sold out, not expensive, simply not a thing that is sold.

  • It is free. Nobody sells it, and nobody is supposed to.
  • You apply for it, on the broadcaster's own Korean-language channel — each network runs its own process, and the process differs by show. For Inkigayo, how to attend is set by SBS; for M Countdown, how to attend is set by Mnet; Music Bank runs through KBS. There is no single form that covers all six.
  • Places are allocated, not purchased, and successful applicants are given a number. Where you stand or sit follows from that number.
  • Artist fan clubs and album buyers are commonly given priority, so an open public application is often competing for what is left.

That is the same wall described in our guide to buying K-pop concert tickets in Korea: the process lives on a Korean site, in Korean, behind a Korean account. The difference is that a concert ticket at least has a global sales page. A music show application generally does not.

We have not been through the application flow ourselves and are not going to publish a step-by-step promise about it. Applications open and close per episode, and the only reliable place to read the current rule is the programme's own notice board for the week you want.

KBS has warned about this in English

The clearest evidence that this system gets exploited comes from KBS itself. On the Music Bank notice board sits an announcement about audience places being traded on social media, written in Korean and then repeated in English — which tells you who it was written for.

KBS states that selling Music Bank audience places for profit is illegal, that places identified as illegally traded will be refused entry, and that responsibility for any money lost falls on the people who made the trade. The English paragraph calls the practice a crime targeting foreign K-pop fans.

So if someone offers you a Music Bank place on X or Instagram for money, the outcome is not a grey-area risk. The place is not transferable, entry can be refused at the door, and KBS has said in advance that the loss is yours. This notice is dated 2024, and we have not found a later one replacing it — but the position it states is unambiguous.

A music show pre-recording is a different session from the broadcast

The question people actually type is: is Inkigayo pre-recorded? The honest answer is partly, and the pre-recording is its own event rather than a detail of the broadcast.

Some stages are filmed before the live broadcast rather than during it. For fans that is not a technicality — it is a second, earlier session with its own entry, usually organised through the artist's fan cafe rather than the broadcaster. Being admitted to one does not admit you to the other.

If a specific stage matters to you, the thing to find out is whether it is being pre-recorded and which session you are applying for. That information comes from the artist's fan community, not from the broadcaster's schedule.

What you can realistically do on a short trip

If you are in Seoul for a week and did not plan around a fan club, the audience floor is a long shot. These are the parts that do not depend on being allocated a place:

  • Watch the broadcast. Music Bank, Music Core and Inkigayo are on the main terrestrial channels. The other three are cable, so whether your accommodation carries MBC M, Mnet or SBS LIFE varies — check the in-room channel list rather than assuming.
  • Plan around the day, not the seat. Knowing that Friday is Music Bank and Sunday is Inkigayo tells you when your favourite group is most likely to be in Seoul during a comeback week.
  • Treat any paid offer as a loss. See the section above. That is the single most useful thing on this page.

If you are building a trip around a concert instead, our Seoul concert schedule lists what is officially registered through December.

Frequently asked

What K-pop music show is on today in Seoul?

It depends on the day of the week: Tuesday is The Show, Wednesday Show Champion, Thursday M Countdown, Friday Music Bank, Saturday Music Core, Sunday Inkigayo. Monday has no music show.

What K-pop music show is on Monday in Korea?

None. The weekly cycle of music shows runs from Tuesday through Sunday, with no Monday programme.

What time does Music Bank start and finish?

It starts at 17:15 Korea time on Fridays. KBS changed the start time from 10 July 2026 and published a notice saying so.

How do I get tickets for Music Bank as a foreigner?

There are no tickets to buy. Audience places are free and allocated by application through KBS, with fan club priority in practice. KBS has publicly warned that paid offers are illegal and will be refused entry at the door.

Is the K-pop music show Inkigayo live or pre-recorded?

Both, in the sense that some stages are filmed in advance and the programme itself airs on its Sunday slot. A pre-recording is a separate session with separate entry, usually arranged through the artist's fan cafe.

Which channel shows The Show in Korea now?

SBS LIFE, on Tuesdays from 18:00. Older English pages naming SBS M or SBS MTV are out of date, and the programme was also off air between November 2025 and June 2026.

How many K-pop music shows are there each week?

Six weekly programmes across five broadcasters, one on each day from Tuesday to Sunday.

How this page was made

Two kinds of source sit behind this page, and they are not equally strong.

Music Bank is from KBS directly. The 17:15 start time and the notice about audience places being traded for money both come from KBS's own programme page and notice board, read on 2 September 2026.

The other five programmes are from Korean-language encyclopaedia listings, not from each broadcaster. Several of those broadcasters publish their schedule only inside a script-driven page that does not serve its content to a plain reader, so we could not read them directly. Before relying on the listings we tested them: they give Music Bank as Friday 17:15, which is exactly what KBS's own notice says. A source that matches the primary record on the one entry we can check independently is worth using for the rest — but it is second-hand, and it is why the day of the week is the part we would stand behind hardest.

The audience-place section describes how the system is structured and where the barriers fall for a visitor. It is not a step-by-step application guide, we have not been through the process, and this page is not a report of a visit.
