Getting there and what it costs
| How | Cost | Time | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Line 1 to 구일역 (Guil) | From 1,550 won ≈$1.12 | 3–10 min walk | The default. Exit 2 — see below |
| Line 1 to 구로역 (Guro) | From 1,550 won ≈$1.12 | About 20 min walk | Quieter, if you come from Seoul, Suwon or Anyang |
| Line 1 to 개봉역 (Gaebong) | From 1,550 won ≈$1.12 | About 15 min walk | Quieter, if you come from Incheon or Bucheon — the airport side |
| Taxi inside Seoul | From 4,800 won ≈$3.47 by day; 5,800 22:00–23:00, 6,700 23:00–02:00, back to 5,800 until 04:00 | Varies | First 1.6 km, then 100 won per 131 m by day — 120 after 22:00 and 140 after 23:00. Show the card above |
Metro and taxi fares are the official Seoul rates. No airport transfer is involved here — unlike the arena out by Incheon Airport, this venue sits inside the city, so you arrive on the subway whichever airport you flew into.
Two things English pages get wrong
1. It is Exit 2, not Exit 1. Guro-gu's English page says Exit 1. The operator's own Korean directions say 구일역 2번 출구 — Exit 2, about 150 m, a three-minute walk. Korean fan and local pages line up with the operator, not with the English page.
2. The seat count. The operator publishes 16,601 seats. English pages give a higher baseball figure and a much higher concert figure. A concert floor holds people a baseball diamond cannot — they are counting different things, and neither says which.
Gocheok Sky Dome bag policy: there is nowhere to leave a suitcase
This is the one that ruins evenings. The operator's facility listing does not include a cloakroom or luggage storage, and no left-luggage service is published for concert days. If you come straight from the airport with a carry-on, you have a problem at the door.
Bag rules themselves are set per tour, not by the venue — some shows have allowed only small clear bags. So check the promoter's notice for your own date rather than assuming last tour's rule still applies.
What to do: use a coin locker at a subway station on the way, or leave luggage at your accommodation. Do not plan to sort it out at the venue.
Gocheok Sky Dome seating chart: it is a baseball stadium first
Gocheok is a domed ballpark, so a concert stage is built into one end and the seating map changes with every tour. A section number that was excellent last time can be behind the stage this time.
Practical rule: read the seating map published for your show, not a general one. Looking for a Gocheok Sky Dome seat view? Korean fans post section-by-section seat view photos after opening night — searching the tour name with 시야 siya, "view" finds them. Searching in English tends not to reach them, because that is the word the photos are tagged with. The same posts are where the talk about best seats happens, and it is tour-specific rather than a property of the building.
Three stations serve this dome, not one
Nearly every English page names Guil Station and stops there. The operator publishes three, with walking times, and it tells you which to use based on where you are coming from — advice that only makes sense if you know the local geography.
| Station (Line 1) | Exit | Walk | The operator's own advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| 구일역 Guil | Exit 2 | about 150 m, 3 min | The default, and the most crowded after a show |
| 구로역 Guro | Exit 2 | about 1 km, 20 min | Use if you are coming from Seoul, Suwon or Anyang, to avoid the crush |
| 개봉역 Gaebong | Exit 2 | about 850 m, 15 min | Use if you are coming from Incheon or Bucheon |
That third row is the one to remember if you are flying into Incheon and going straight to the show. Gaebong is on the Incheon side of the dome, so you walk in from the direction you arrived rather than doubling back through the busiest station.
There is a fourth way in that involves no long walk at all: get off at 신도림역 Sindorim on Line 1 or 2 — a different station, so the Exit 2 rule above does not apply — then leave by Exit 1 or 5 and take a bus three stops. The operator notes that ten routes run that stretch.
Getting home when the trains stop
This is the section that decides whether your night ends well, and it is missing from most English guides. A concert that starts at 20:00 does not end early, the crowd leaves at once, and Line 1 does not run all night.
The night bus that stops at Gocheok Sky Dome
Seoul runs night-only buses with an N prefix, and the operator's own bus list for this stadium includes N16. The card fare is 2,500 won ≈$1.81 — more than a normal bus, less than a cross-city taxi at closing time.
🔴 Do not plan around the headline hours. Seoul describes its night-bus network as running roughly 23:00 to 06:00, but that is the network, not one route. Individual routes start later and finish earlier than that window, and N16 is one of them. Check the first and last run for your stop in a bus app before you count on it — a concert that ends at 23:10 can finish before the route has started.
Save the stop name, not just the number. The stops the operator names for the dome are 동양미래대학 Dongyang Mirae University and 구로성심병원(중) Guro Sungsim Hospital, centre lane. Searching either Korean stop name in a bus app should find it; the two are sometimes listed as one combined stop.
Every route the operator lists
| Type | Routes | When it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Trunk (blue) | 600, 662, 660, 160 | Daytime and evening |
| Night | N16 | After Line 1 stops — check first and last run in a bus app |
| General | 88, 10, 83, 510, 530 | Local hops |
| Branch (green) | 5626, 5712, 6713, 6515, 6637, 6640A | Feeder routes from nearby stations |
| Seat | 301, 320, 5200 | Longer rides, seated |
For example, if your accommodation is anywhere along Line 1 you will usually be better off walking the 15–20 minutes to Gaebong or Guro than queueing at Guil with everyone else. Past midnight most of the daytime routes above have finished, though last runs differ by route and direction — check yours rather than assuming. What is designed for that hour is N16, and it has its own first and last run too.
Do not drive: 484 parking spaces for 16,601 seats
This is the single number that settles the question, and it is only on the operator's Korean facilities page. Gocheok Sky Dome has 16,601 seats and 484 parking spaces — roughly one space for every 34 seats.
| Published figure | Number |
|---|---|
| Seating capacity | 16,601 |
| Parking spaces | 484 |
| Height of the dome | 67.59 m |
| Floor area | 83,623 m² over two basement and four above-ground levels |
| Opened | 2015-11-04 |
A taxi needs no space, so arriving by taxi is a different matter — though where it can stop on a show night depends on the crowd control in place. What the number rules out is arriving in a car you then have to park. Take Line 1, or accept that the ride out may take a while once a show ends.
Food: eat before you go in
What the operator lists around the dome is a pedestrian plaza with a small outdoor stage, a baseball-themed street connected to the stadium, and sports facilities — one football pitch and two futsal courts. As listed by the operator, concessions inside are tied to whatever event is running, so treat food inside as something you confirm on the day rather than plan around.
Practical order of operations: eat near Guil or Guro Station before you walk over, carry a sealed drink if the event notice allows it, and do not count on a full meal inside the dome on a concert night.
How to check whether anything is on that day
The operator runs an event calendar for the dome, and it covers baseball and non-baseball events in the same place. It is in Korean, but a calendar is a calendar — you are looking for a date with an entry.
Why bother? Because this is a working ballpark. If a home game is scheduled near your concert date, the plaza, the station exit and the local restaurants behave completely differently. Checking takes about ten seconds and it is the difference between a calm walk and a crowd.

Questions people actually ask
How do I get to Gocheok Sky Dome from central Seoul?
Subway Line 1 to 구일역 (Guil Station) and out of Exit 2 — the operator gives it as about a 3-minute walk, though getting out of the station itself can add a few minutes on a busy night. Fares start at 1,550 won ≈$1.12.
How much does it cost to get to Gocheok Sky Dome?
Subway from anywhere in Seoul starts at 1,550 won ≈$1.12 on a transit card. A Seoul mid-size taxi starts at 4,800 won ≈$3.47 for the first 1.6 km, then 100 won per 131 m — but that is the daytime rate. Seoul adds a night surcharge that lifts the starting fare to 5,800 won ≈$4.19 between 22:00 and 23:00 and 6,700 won ≈$4.84 from 23:00 to 02:00, easing back to 5,800 won ≈$4.19 until 04:00. The 23:00 band is exactly when a concert crowd is looking for a car. The meter climbs faster too: the same 131 m that costs 100 won by day is 120 won in the first band and 140 won in the second, so a late ride costs more than the higher flagfall alone suggests.
Which exit at Guil Station is closest to Gocheok Sky Dome?
Exit 2 — that is what the operator publishes, with a 150 m, three-minute walk. Guro-gu's own English page says Exit 1 and is the outlier — if an English guide sent you the wrong way, that is why.
Can I bring a suitcase to a concert at Gocheok Sky Dome?
Plan not to, and the two halves of this have different weight. Official: the operator's facility listing publishes no cloakroom and no luggage storage, and none is announced for concert days. Fan report, not the operator: Korean fan guides say the same every tour — nothing is set up on the night either. Use a coin locker at a subway station on the way, or leave it at your accommodation. Bag size rules themselves are set per tour by the promoter, not by the venue.
How many seats does Gocheok Sky Dome have?
The operator publishes 16,601 seats. English pages give a higher baseball figure and a much higher concert figure — a concert floor holds people a baseball diamond cannot, so they are counting different things.
Is Gocheok Sky Dome indoor or outdoor, and is it air conditioned?
Indoor, completely. It is a dome — Korea's first fully enclosed ballpark, opened 2015-11-04 — with a fixed roof rather than a retractable one. For a concert that means the show does not move for weather, and there is no point checking the forecast before you decide what to wear to get in. Whether it is air conditioned is the other half of that question, and the honest answer is that the operator does not publish a cooling figure, so this page will not quote one; fans in summer talk about the concourse being warmer than the bowl, but that is fan report, not an operator statement.
How big is Gocheok Sky Dome compared with other K-pop venues?
It is the biggest of the three rooms K-pop uses most, and by the operators' own numbers it is not close to a tie. Seoul Facilities Corporation publishes 16,601 seats for Gocheok, in a building of 83,623 m² standing 67.59 m tall. KSPO Dome and Inspire Arena each publish 15,000 as a maximum. Bigger is not automatically better, though: Gocheok is a ballpark with a stage built into one end, while Inspire Arena was designed for live music from the start.
What is the nearest airport to Gocheok Sky Dome, and which one will you actually use?
Those are two different answers, which is where English pages get muddled. The nearest is 김포공항 Gimpo (GMP) — it is inside Seoul, a few districts west of the dome. The one most overseas fans land at is 인천공항 Incheon (ICN), further out on an island beyond Incheon city. Connecting from elsewhere in Asia, you may well arrive at the closer one; flying long-haul, you almost certainly will not. Either way the decision that matters is the station, not the airport: arriving from the Incheon or Bucheon side, the operator points you at 개봉역 Gaebong rather than the nearest station — you walk in from the direction you came instead of doubling back through the busiest exit after the show.
Which subway station is best for a sold-out show at Gocheok Sky Dome?
It depends which way you are coming from, and the operator splits it: 구로역 (Guro Station) if you are arriving from Seoul, Suwon or Anyang, and 개봉역 (Gaebong Station) if you are coming from Incheon or Bucheon. Either trades a 15–20 minute walk for avoiding the crush at the nearest station — but take the one on your side of the dome, or you will walk past it and back.
Flying into Incheon for a show?
The venue next to the airport has its own traps — two shuttle bays where only one reliably works, and an out-of-date district on every English page. See How to get to Inspire Arena from Incheon Airport.
Still ticketless? The platform every English guide points at was renamed, and the rules that cancel a booking are printed on the event page — how to buy K-pop concert tickets in Korea.
What this page is: the venue operator's Korean pages and the city and district official pages, read and put into English. Every figure here comes from those, and they are listed below. Where a point rests on Korean fan reports instead — the suitcase advice, the seat-view photos — this page says so in that sentence rather than blending it in. It is not a visit report, and where sources disagree it says which is which.
